Mian jailed for pot possession A 22-YEAR-OLD Vancouver man was sentenced Tuesday in North Vancouver provincial court to 30 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana. Edward Leslie Roberts was originally charged in connection with an Oct. 18, 1988 seizure of approximately three grams‘of the drug. He was also placed on probation fer two months. Fine given for restricted weapon A 47-YEAR-OLD West Vancouver man was fined $500 April 11 in West Vancouver provincial court after he was found guilty of g a restricted weapon. Miron Mervin Kroll was origi- nally charged in connection with an Aug. 9, 1988 incident in which he was found with a 6.35 calibre semi-automatic handgun without a permit or registration. Judge R.D. Suspect found in dog house A RECENT West Vancouver Police dog chase led police, who were investigating a break and enter into a car, straight to the dog house. West Vancouver Police were called in to assist North Vancouver RCMP investigating 2 theft in progress from an auto in the 3300- block of Fromme Road at 5:54 a.m., April 16. North Vancouver RCMP had one suspect in custody at the scene. A second suspect ha fled. Police dog Trooper picked up the track from the car and chased on imrucgh the backyard of a nearby house, down a trail to a bush arco, te a house near Fromme Road and Chaucer Avenue and on to a yard in the 1,000-block of Shakespeare Aveaue. The police dog finally balted in front of a small dog house. The suspect was pulled from the canine quarters and arrested. Two young offenders have been charged with theft from an | auto.
