© get this straight ¢ | IT’S TIME to say a word about newspapers that don’t carry the news, reporters who don’t report, and columnists who should go back to knitting. I refer to our local dailies and to Nicole Parton. Parton has been having lunch with Aziz Khaki, the East Indian from Uganda, Tanzania, or some place like that. Khaki is head of the new Kill Collins Movement, Parton is Parton, and neither is any wiser for their having met. Our story begins with Khaki tell- ing advertisers to stop using the North Shore News until 1 am removed from its pages. (See my piece for Jan. 11.) Enter the weeping fem from the Vancouver Sun, a white multiculter who will hold a party the day we go Third World. She is also in favor of Khaki and his mis-named Committee for Racial Justice getting the $40,000 that Ot- tawa gave him last year so he can organize boycotts and teach us democracy. This pair had lunch to discuss the sad state of affairs in which | am allowed to peddie my rotten opinions. Not that she mentions my name. I am ‘‘a North Shore newspaper columnist.’’ (Could she be referring to Miss Manners? | don’t think so.) The outcome of the parley was a sermonette in the Sun in which she expounded on ‘‘racism’’ — which to her and her newspaper means any objection to turning this coun- try into a suburb of Zanzibar, etc. I figured in her treatise because | am one of two or three in the Ca- nadian media who raise their voices about what is going on. It was also sinful that I had ridiculed her pet Zanzibarite. So far, so good. I am all for lively discussion. I lust indeed to meet Parton, Khaki and any of their friends who might like to engage me in debate. It is astoun- WF 2B Magic ‘Carpet 2 area rugs cleaned for oll Serving the-North Shore'since 1961. ding, though, that Pazton manag- ed to write a piece aboui the Col- lins/Khaki square-off without mentioning what set it off. She was indignant because I said that Khaki wanted te introduce *multi-cult style democracy"’ to B.C. Well, that referred to his little anti-free speech and boycott cam- paign. But she ignored that. It would have spoiled her story, in which the Zanzibarite is portrayed as a victim. There’s something else that is typical of Vancouver's daily press. Former mayor Jack Volrich and a few others have formed a group called the British/European Im- migration Aid Foundation, which wants to get more Europeans into this country, they being a dying import. The group held a meeting recently to state its case. But the case never got into the papers, unless you call a couple of miniscule quotes getting into the papers. Why? Because to the Sun and to the Partons anything such people have to say is bad news and “racist.” The main speaker at the meeting was West Van's Charles Campbell, a former vice-chairman of the Immigration Appeal Board who knows what he is talking about. In the Sun’s ‘‘coverage,”’ his 40-minute specch was reduced to one paragraph, which is par for the course. In its news column the murning paper gave him nothing at all, But a male Parton, one Bruce McLean, did a number on the meeting in which he too raved about “‘racism,"’ his big thing be- ing that a Scottish member of the audience complained about the HURRY -— - FINAL: WEEK! - the price of 1. Parton won't be sobbing about that invasion, though. Not until she grows up. She may then also notice that B.C. has become a headquarters for Sikh terrorism and Asiatic gangs, and that one day we shall be a Miami or a Detroit. A bonfire of the vanities, as author Tom Wolfe has put it. Parton, McLean and most other white multiculters know nothing about immigration. She stated, for example, that the U.K. ranks third in the list of countries sending immigrants to Canada, so what's the beef? In fact, over 4 five-year period, immigration from the U.K. has tun a poor fourth to that from Hong Kong, India and Vietnam. It is usually between four and five per cent of the total. And thanks to Ottawa's policies, European immigration as a whole has long been overtaken by the Asiatic sort. This year, too, we can expect that 80 per cent of immigrants will be non-white.
