Break-in nets
$2,000 for thief

WEST VANCOUVER
police are looking for a
heavily-laden thief who
smashed a $600 window
and then made off with
almost $2,000 worth of
track suits and sunglasses.

Police were called to the
area of 15th Street and
Clyde Avenue at about 6
a.m. Thursday when
several residents of high
rise buildings in that area
reported the sound of
breaking glass.

They found the front
window of Swift Sports
Hauss had been smashed
by a two-foot-long
wrench.

A check of the store’s
inventory led to the dis-
covery that six track suits,
valued at $690, and a
number of pairs of sun-
glasses, valued at $1,172,
had been stolen.

Police are asking
anyone who has informa-
tion on the break-in to
contact them at 922-4141.
