RAFE Mair is radio’s
Boneless Wonder. He
rants behind his mike
but has no stomach for
in-studio confronta-
tions with his main tar-
gets.

On Jan. 17 he spent half
an hour firing shots at me
from behind cover. Then he
scuttled off to New Zealand.

Collins, raged Kafe, is a
racist, a white supremacist, a
hater and a bigot. He, of
course, is not a blowhard, a
ninny, or a race renegade.

His words are the politi-
cally correct equivalents of
“Nigger” and “Kike.” Pity
his brain seizes up so often.
As for hatred, he could give
lessons in it.

‘His tirades have more to
do with his ego than with my
views.

He purrs like a pussy
when Praised and loses sleep
when he is not.

Someone on the papers
called him Dr. No. It should
have been Dr. No-Guts.

There was the election
campaign in which he inter-
viewed Premier Bill Bennett.
All lovey-dovey. The next
day, when Benneti wasn’t

there, he tore him apart.

When there was a demon
stration against st the
North Shore News he inter-
viewed two professional
Doug bashers. But not
Doug.

the worm in his gut grew. So
he claimed I had been
from CJOR in 1983 for
“incompetence.” IT put a
lawyer to work and Rate the
Raver had to eat crow. On
air.

He knows very well why
the contract was not
renewed, (And non-renewal
is a bit different from being
“fired.”}

T had too much to say.
The pressure groups were
buzzing around the station
like bumble bees. But that
will never happen to him. He
goes with the big battalions.

In his January diatribe he
was still whining about hav-
ing to apologize. No doubt
it gave him ulcers.

Allegedly a lawyer, his
training hasn't protected him
from getting bonked.

He had to aj vlogize for
remarks made about Ted
Hughes, the respected con-

“flict of interest commissioner.
And an out of court settle-
ment was made in the com-
missioner’s favor.

Now a libel action
brought by former Indian
affairs Minister Tom Siddon
is on the court docket.

He was inaccurate, too,
about those old CIOR rat-
ings. Mine dropped, he said.
In fact, I raore than doubled
what I inherited. His went

ocrite.

Composting in

Your Backyard

waste is organic material that could be put to good

use as compost. By composting, you not only help reduce the

amount of garbage sent to landfl sit

but you also replenish

the nutrients in your garden’s soil. And what's good for the soil

is good for the envionment!

If you've been thinking about starting your own compost pile
but aren‘t quite suce where to begin, it's probably best to start
out small. You can cither build your own compost container or
purchase a commercially made one. If you decide to build one.
It's important to remember that the compost must not be entirely
enclosed. Air must be able to circulate through the layers, and
rainwater must be able to drain frecly. For small-scale compost-
ing. simply remove the bottam of a large garbage can, barrel, or
wooden box. if possible, place the container in a sunny and airy

part of your yard.

Once the container Is in place, you can start adding kitchen
and yard waste right away. For cach
layer of waste, add a thin layer of moist
soil. Every two or three weeks. curn he
pile over to mix and aerate it. Remem-
ber: in order for compost to funciion
properly, it must be kept moist.

After one full year, your
compost should be ready to
use as fertilizer and sot! con-
