The new democracy -- Third World style

T ISN’T OFTEN I get any pleasure out of
anything the destroyers of the country have to
say, but the other night a certain perverse
pleasure could be drawn from complaints uttered
on the CBC by James Fleming, the former minister

for multiculturalism.

Fleming has always been
110 per cent in favor of mak-
ing the white population of
Canada take a back seat, and
was responsible for setuung up
the all-party task force on

visible minorities — a com-
mittee that was rigged in on
behalf of the vismins from

the start, as I’ve mentioned

before.

Dear Editor:

1 have frequently visited
both the North Van and
West Van SPCAs,
sometimes for an hour on
the weekend, because [| love

animals and like to keep
them company for a while. |
don’t worry about the
animals at the West Van

shelter because they are well
cared for and stay there until
they tind a home, whether it
be two days or two years,
and they're never destroyed.
I've always left the North
Van shelter crying, no mat-
ter what I’m totally
disgusted with the old stalls
the dogs put up with. Half
of them look sick and the
smell is something else.
There aren't enouygh cages
for the cats and when |!

asked the manager why he
didn’t have more, he said
no, because then there’d be
foomany.

It would be great to or-
ganize a committee to clean
up the shelter.

That way, when | leave
the place at night, my con-
science wouldn’t bother me
and I’d know the animals
would still be there the next
day when !'d go to care for
them. They're the one thing
I truly love and I’m not go-
ing to let some uncaring
people destroy those helpless
animals who have absolutely
no say in the matter. T think
the whole issue is disgusting
and something must be
done.

ing on the ethnic-political
front.

three million immigrants
have entered Canada in the

from such culturally and
racially alien parts as India,
China, the West Indies, and
South America.

In less than five years,
most voters will be ethnics

the Third World) but by the
turn of the century you won’t

in Canada, India, China or
