Sager explained after the meeting that board authorization was required because of the involvement of the teachers and the fact that they are asking students to join the trip through the school system. Sager spoke of recent statements by Prime Minister Clark expressing the Canadian government's stand on the Soviet Union at this time. He suggested the board consider national feeling and reconsider its approval for the trip. Board Chairman Audrey Sojonky proposed that the two organizers be asked to give a status report on the proposed trip at the next board meeting.
