honors for her work

Robinson first heard about Theatre 8.C.’s annua!

festival of plays competition, she was determined
she would be one of the contestants.

She did it the hard way. Robin-
son wrote, directed, and acted in

her own two-woman play, Pulitzer

Pulp.

“It was very indulgent,” the
tall, bland-headed Robinson now
Jaughs, ‘‘And never to be done
again.””

Pulitzer Pulp won the North
Shore zone of the 1986 festival
and went on to be produced and
“workshopped” at the final
competition in Prince George.

it may not have been Pulitzer
Prize-winning material — even
Robinson admits “it wasn’t

brilliant’’ — but it did start her on
the long trek to becoming a play-
wright.

Robinson had always dreamed
of some day becoming a play-
wright, but she didn’t take her
dream seriously unti! she enrolled
in theatre courses at Simon Fraser
University.

After a year in Toronto, where
she did everything but write, she
