Simon Fraser had been defeated by Cal-Berkeley in pre-season play by the same score during the Clansmen's California Sept. } tour in Berkeley. Doug Cooper, who now has five goals this year, scored the other Simon Fraser goal in the victory. Accili has scored six goals for the Clan. Simon Fraser fired 15 shots at the California goalkeeper Todd Harmon. “After a slow start where Cal- Berkeley dominated the play and scored at the eight-minute mark, J felt we really gained control in the second half. I was very pleased with the overall performance of the team and the win was a good one for us,’’ stated head coach Keith Watts. Dolphins down Blueha wks A YOUNG Deep Cove Dolphin team captured first place in the North Shore Touch Football League (NSTFL) recently with two weekend wins. Led by Nick ‘King Kong” Bundy, the Dolphins defeated the Bluehawks 22-6 on Sept. 27 and blanked the Steelers 26-0 the fol- lowing day. In other action, the North Shore Panthers, led by veterans Will Paddock and John Robinson, split a pair of games, enabling the team to secure second spot overall. On Sept. 27, the Panthers defeated the Steelers 14-7, but dropped a 8-6 decision to the Silver Bullets on Sept. 28. The Sronhorses, meanwhile, led by quarterback Richard Speidel, roiled over the struggling Bluehawks 51-8. NSTFL play-offs began Oct. 4.
