lion television commercial
campaign to interest the
U.S. and Canadian. markets
Monday in the Futures
Theatre, the big scoop is that
ABC’s Good Morning
America and super host,
David Hartman, has signed
to telecast live from the Ex-
po site from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m.
Starting May 2. ABC pro-
ducers will be back in
November to survey the
area and make further ar-
rangements ‘‘before . the
other guys get here’’....

Still with Expo, when
Chapman’s, the English
clothing. fclk,. celebrated
their 95th anniversary last
week with a delightful recep-
tion and classic fashion show
in their Pender St. store,
Hugh Chapman announced
that July 8 would be Bri-

tain’s big day at the world’s’

fair. Not only would Rolls
Royce introduce their
100,000th luxury model but
they would also have on
display. their original 1905
automobile. But the really
big news is that they hope to
have the Iron Lady herself,
Prime Minister Margaret
Thatcher here for the cele-
bration....

He’s witty, debonair, a
top notch interviewer and
author and former escort to
some of the world’s most
beautiful women. He’s the
elegant David Frost and he'll
be in Vancouver late next
month. He, and hopefully
his new wife, Lady Carine
FitzAlan-Howard, wiil be
special guests at. a gala
fund-raising dinner for
UNICEF at the Four
Seasons on Nov. 27. Female
hearts. are already . a-flut-
ter....

Now if only. UNICEF
could get him as their celeb-
tity pumpkin-carver on Nov.
30 in the same hotel — sort
of .a.‘Frost is on the pum-

night.

Eagle Harbour Communi-
ty Centre has scheduled the
fireworks display for 8:15

p.m. on October 31.

Fireworks are supplied by
the Ambleside-Tiddleycove
Lions Club.

During the evening there
will be a costume. parade,
with prizes for the best

costumes and a booth selling. -

hotdogs and hot chocolate.

The community centre is
not charging admission for
the fireworks night, but is
expecting donations from
those who attend.

The centre is located at
5575 Marine Drive, West
Vancouver. For further in-
formation, phone 921-7425.

In the event of rain, the
fireworks display will be re-
scheduled.

Seems Ron, who'd been

the car business, had a week
off last week and decided to
clean the eaves on his roof.
He’s just gotten to the top of
the ladder when a sudden
gust of wind sent him and
the ladder crashing to the
ground. He suffered four
broken ribs, a punctured
lung and severe concussion.
He’s back home now and
feeling much better but he'll
never climb his ladder
again...,
