671% oppose Lions Gate rehab plans

opinion on the Lions
Gate Bridge project.

tunnel that would run under-
water and then underground,
beneath the existing causeway
to downtown,

Once the tunnel is built, all

while the bridge is renovated.
Once the bridge is completed,
traffic would cross in’ one
direction over the bridge and
in another direction through
the tunnel. A toll of up to $2
per round trip may be neces-
sary to fund the proposal.

Twenty one percent of

opposed to the toll.

taxpayers, bridge users and
members of the business com-
munity have not been ade-
quately informed and consult-
ed on the issue and the various

alternatives possible.

Said Clark recently, “There
are no bulldozers out yet or
blow torches on the bridge.
There’s a hope we can turn
this around and do this prop-
erly before we (North Shore
businesses and commuters)
are decimated.”
