Owner Vaclav Jirasek grew up in the Czech Republic, home to Bohemian

crystal and some of the finest crystal makers in the world. “I have always loved crystal,” says

Jirasek, who often visits the Czech factories to watch the artisans at work. He says he is constantly
awed by their talent. “Ic is a skill chat takes a lifetime to learn.” While crystal shimmers like diamonds,
it certainly doesn't have to cost the same, At the Crystal Gallery, prices start at just ten dollars.

From delicate perfume bottles, to long stemmed crystal tulips in blown glass, you're sure to find a pre-
cious and lasting gift at the Crystal Gallery on the second level of Lonsdale Quay.

“Welcome to my playhouse,” smiles Barbara Snow, owner of Details Fine Gifts. Tucked upstairs in a
cozy corner of Lonsdale Quay, her quaint boutique looks like an enchanted cottage. You'll enjoy won-
drous scents and soothing music, as Barbara takes you through each themed “room.” Look for glit-
tering fairy music boxes and hand- painted porcelain dolls in “the bedroom,” colourful mugs, teapots
and beautiful floating candles in “the pantry.” “The den” showcases a fabulous collection of picture
frames, and the nursery is full of teddy bears and tiny treasures. Passing the colourful array of
Christmas ornaments, Barbara moves behind the counter as she concludes the tour. “This is where I
play store,” she grins.

Lay one tortilla on baking sheet. Spread 4 ‘cup of crab mixture over bait of tortilla,
