month to take part in the opening
events of the new Vancouver Public
Library and to promote Steal My
Rage, the anthology of poetry and
prose he edited for Douglas &
McIntyre ($16.95).

Steal My Rage features 34 First
Nations writers working in a wide

variety of styles, both fiction and non-
fiction, and dealing with subjects
such as personal’ and- community
identity, traditional cultural values
and the stresses of contemporary
urban life.

Like several other recent antholo-
gies. Steal My Rage demonstrates
that there is a largely untapped pool
of First Nations: writers who are
working to adapt traditional oral
story-telling techniques ‘to written
