Five new
directors
elected

THE WEST Vancouver
Foundation held its 14th-annu-
al meeting recently.

Along with reporting on the non-
profit organization's fiscal perfor-
mance in 1993, five new directors
were named to the Foundation’s
board. They are: Kassem Aghtai,
Edwin Lee, Barbara MacDougall,
Leslie Peterson and Azad Shanji.

They will join continuing board
‘members Jerrold Beckerman,
Barbara Brink. James Dixon,
Stephen Hynes, Cowan McKinney
and North Shore News publisher
Peter Speck.

JS. Cameron was re-elected as
Chairman for a three-year term.

The West Vancouver
Foundation siarted in 1979 with
seed money of $21,000, which has
grown to over $450,000,

Money donated from individuals
and corporations to the foundation
is used to establish, or finance exist-
ing, community projects,

Contributions in 1993 totalled:

$72,672. Over $34,000 was paid
Out in grants.

In the past, the foundation has
contributed to the symphony, opera,
art gallery, dance recitals, schools,
parks, hospitals, and dozens of
other activities.
