Blues beat Cougars THE CAPILANO College Blues men’s soccer team played the BCIT Cougars Friday at Swangard Stadium for the second annual Presidents’ Cup. BCIT won the Presidents’ Cup last year so the Blues were looking forward for the opportunity to tie up the score. Capilano College wasted little time in establishing its attacking form as the tearm created several scoring opportunities early in the game. The first goal was not scored, however, until the 28-minute mark when Josh Dickson scored on a corner kick. Minutes later Mathew Humphries was brought down on a breakaway and Paul Dailly re- corded the team’s second goal from the penalty shot. Five minutes later BCIT was awarded a penalty shot which brought them back into the game for a short while until Tony Mobiio hammered a low drive past the BCIT goalkeeper to score the Blues’ third goal. of the first half, The last goal of the game was scored by Dickson who collected a pass left by Nico Berg on a “dummy” play to drive the ball past the keeper. This was an important victory for Capilano College since losing their last league game to Cariboo College. The Blues have been playing very well as a unit and look for- ward to the second half of the season, according to coach Joe lacobellis.
