MAINLAND ECONOMY Tourism draw to offer local vacation package - EXTEND AN invitation during National Tourism Week to visit the Vancouver area in 1987 and Tourism Vancouver may reward you and your visitors with a package for four waich includes a VIP city tour, din- ner, theatre tickets and one night's hotel accommoda- tion. The promotion was announced recently by John Munro, executive director of Tourism Vancouver, who said: ‘tBach of us can help boost the economy of the Greater Vancouver area by encouraging our friends, relatives and business acquaintances to visit our beautiful city during 1987. ‘“‘We are encouraging everyone in Greater Van- couver to do their part to make National Tourism Week which runs to May 17 a huge success. *‘Anyone who writes a letter or makes a phone call to extend an invitation can qualify for the draw by sending us a copy of the letter or a note identifying the party and phone number called.”’ A - ‘CRAVEN'W” The draw will be made at the Vancouver Travel In- foCentre on Burrard Street on May 29. Munro said, ‘‘Tourism Vancouver has undertaken the promotion because tourism is the number once in- dustry in Greater Vancouver. Every visitor —- man, woman or child — who spends time in our city benefits our economy. Munro said invitations from the residents of the area can have considerable impact on decisions to visit here. A letter-writing campaign connected with the Expo 86 promotion helped boost attendance at the world exposition.
