Gear up for summer hikes | NORTH VANCOUVER RECREATION COMMIS- SION Outdoors Club is now one year old. With trips every weekend over the past year, nearly 1000 people have enjoyed the grandeur of the great outdoors with the club, made many new friends and are now much fitter as a result. . Our winter cross-country ski touring will shortly give way to hiking, cycling, and canoeing. To facilitate the transition to summer activities, in Dillingha HIGHLAND LITTLE LEAGUE major division continues to be dominated - by. Dillingham powerhouse as they remain undefeated after two weeks of play. Strong pitching by Scott Macey and Beau Paine coupled with Scott’s grand slam home run on opening day and Beau’s three home runs on April 29 and May 7 have Jed Dillingham to their perch atop the league. At a young age, he has proved to be an ex- ceilent carrier, delivering our Sunday News, in the Highland area Jeff is a grade five student at Carisbrooke School, art and P.E. are among his favourite subjects. A hockey enthusiast, he plays ona North Van. Minor hockey team and also has a hockey card collection, that he adds to every year. If he could play in the N.H.L. he would loveto play for the Edmonton Oilers, naturally! Jeff has done extremely well with his earnings from the News. He has paid half, towards his Ghetto Blaster, a bike, an Atari and has also been able to buy some saving bonds. That's pretty good We enjoyed meeting this fine young carrier, his Mom and younger brother, Andrew, who helps deliver. sometime.
