Frozen Water Pipe

Start thawing at an open
faucet so that steam which is
generated can escape. It is
safer to use low heat, such as
supplied by a hair dryer or heat
lamp than a propane torch. A
heat lamp can be used to
warm a pipe concealed inside
a wall. Keep it far enough back
from the wail so it won't scorch
it. Use an aluminum reilector
to concentrate the heat.

You can wire an electric
soldering iron to a frozen pipe,
moving it along to a new point
as the pipe thaws. An electric
