_ Theatre B16 - Wednesday, September 7, 1983 - North Shore News Thanks largely to. good timing, Tamahnous will be opening its season with the Canadian premiere of Caryl Churchill’s highly successful play Top Girls September 30, at the Vancouver East Cultural Centre. The rights to the British playwright’'s feminist work were and are ‘much sought after and it was a matter of being in the right place at the right time that brought this hot property to Tamahnous. By late July Tamiahnous had already determined its fall show when director Larry Lillo returned excited and en- thusiastic from a trip to New York. Lillo had just seen a production of Churchill's Top Girls and urged Tamahnous to try and secure the rights to the scathing social comedy. A letter was immediately sent off to New York.
