Many sincere thanks to you all for your unstinting and effective efforts to elect me as your MLA for West Vancouver-Howe Sound! I promise to work as hard for all my constituents as you -e.90 Goes Dear Editor: I would like to thank the voters of North Vancouver Seymour who expressed their confidence in me and in the NDP on May 5. It was a good campaign, and I enjoyed the op portunity to meet the voters of the constituency, and to meet and debate with the other candidates, Jack Davis, Edward White, and Stuart McNish. I would especially like to thank all the people who have worked for me during this crucial campaign. When you visit me at my soon-to- be-opened constituency office, I will express my gratitude more personally for your support and con- cern for continued good government in_ British Columbia. John Reynolds West Vancouver Schreck came out to help in the campaign. It was humbling to see the hard work and dedication shown by the legions of canvassers, office workers, members of the sign crew and all the others who worked day after day, often long into the night, for an NDP victory in North Vancouver Seymour. Once again, my thanks. David Schreck North Vancouver In praise of HandyDart Dear Editor: ] hope you will allow me a small space in your letters column to comment on a letter of complaint in last week's edition about the Handy Dart service to elderly and disabled people. Thank you Gaile Campbell West Vancouver SPRING SALE Sweeper wakens too early Dear Editor: What happened to our anti-noise bylaw in West Van? It is 5:30 am and I have just been awakened by that noise machine sweeping streets in Park Royal. Why is it necessary to start at this hour to do one hour's work or less, before the stores open at 9:30? Sure 8 am would give them suf- ficient time. There are hundreds of elderly people living in these apartments who have dif- ficulty sleeping — between imsomnia, kidney problems, arthritis etc., some of them MS group problems differ Dear Editor: I] am writing to you as a member of the newly formed North Shore Multiple Sclerosis Support Group which meets monthly at Lions Gate Hospital. We are the mildly affected and/or newly diagnosed Multiple Sclerosis people and are anxious to make contact with others like ourselves in the community who may require the benefit of such a group. We have all had contact at some time with the older formed original group of MS people on the North Shore but are not dealing with the same problems, none of us being in| wheelchairs, therefore have seen fil to form our own group to help us deal with the problems that we have. It is bad enough to have police cars, fire-trucks, ambulances, inhalators screaming past here at all hours (which are necessary) without having to get up and take a pill or make a cup of Ovaltine to get back to sleep again. Another noise source is the hotrodders burning rubber and revving their motors after the show and bowling alley closes. A few tickets handed out here would put a stop to this nuisance in a hurry.
