It will be led by Eva Schindler- Raimman from Los Angeles, an international! authonty on volunteerism. The North Shore Volunteer Action Centre and the Bumaby Volunteer Centre are co- sponsors. Whereas it 1s. often recognized that seniors and handicapped people would like to volunteer. creative approaches are needed to develop . more appropriate and meaningful volunteer opportunities for them. It is hoped that as well as volunteers and = staff, a number of the participants will be from these special groups so that they can help in looking for new solutions. Dr. Schindler-Rainman, known affectionately as “Eva” to everyone” she meets, is an exciting, vibrant workshop leader. An “Eva” workshop is an experience in itself and worth attending just for the opportunity to observe an expert in action. Eva uses a_ variety of methods to help participants explore new ideas = and practical solutions to problems suggested at the workshop. A study of child daycare policy in B.C. is currently being undertaken by the Social Planning and Research Committee of the United Way of the Lower Mainland. All interested persons, associations and organizations are invited to make submissions for consideration by the S.P.A.R. Committee concerning all aspects of the provision of child daycare.
