THE Northshore Youth
Symphony are set to per-
form Williams, Elgar and
Mozart at Centennial
Theatre.

“Thrilling!” is how Youth
Symphony director Peter Van Ooyen
describes the upcoming Wednesday,
Feb. 26 performance at the North
Vancouver music hall.

Van Ooyen brought the musi-
cians fogether less than two years
ago “to provide for local, quality
opportunities for students to partici-
pate in string ensemble or full
orchestra settings.”

Along with practicing and per-
forming, the group experience of the
Symphony affords the opportunity
to teach values; and it offers the
environment to grow socially.

On February 26, at 7:30 p.m., at
the Centennial Theatre, as part of
Sound Spectacular 97, the
Northshore Youth Symphony will
perform Williams’, The Empire
Strikes Back, Elgar’s Nimrod from
The Enigma Variations and
Mozart’s, Overture trom the opera,
Cost Fan Tutte.
