WEST VANCOUVER’S newly’ ren-
ovated heritage landmark The
Ferry Building at Ambleside Land-
ing provides a perfect setting as
one of two venues displaying the
works of local artist Jane Ford.
Ford’s recent series entitled The
Lake O'Hara Expedition 1989 will
also be exhibited at Catriona Jef-
fries Fine Art Gallery in Vancouver
beginning tomorrow, Thursday,
Sept. 14. The Ferry Building
display opens Tuesday, Sept. 26

and runs for one week. .
Ford’s drawings and paintings
capture the forms and atmosphere
of the magnificent Lake O'Hara
region of the Rocky Mountains.
Says Ford after a recent trip to
the Rockies: ‘...On my ‘trips
there | take a camera, paper and
graphite. | climb high to draw from
the flat, textured boulders left
below the receding glaciers..the
larch tree is the most challenging
subject an artist can imagine....”’
