A VANCOUVER man was sentenced Jan.8 in North Vancouver
provincial court to three months in jail after he was found guilty of
theft.

Kirk Donald Hunt, 23, was originally charged jointly with
Ronald William Lewis, 39, also of Vancouver, with theft under
$1,000 and possession of stolen property worth under $1,000 in
connection with an Oct. 2, 1987 incident, in which a video cassette
recorder was stolen from a femate.

Appearing before Judge J.D. Layton, Hunt was found guilty on
the theft charge and had the possession of stolen property charge
laid against him dismissed.

Lewis pleaded guilty Dec. 10 in North Vancouver provincial
court to the theft charge and was also sentenced lo three months In
jail.

The Crown entered a stay of proceedings in Levis’ § possession
of stolen property charge. ;

Theft charges
laid in W. Van

WEST VANCOUVER Police have charged’ a 20-year-old Van-
couver man with four counts of theft under $1,000 following the
theft of four microwave ovens Dec. 22 from Eaton's, Park Royal.
The four ovens were on display in the store when they went
missing.
Clifford James Reynolds of 407 Rayrsur Ave. is scheduled to
appear in West Vancouver provincial court Jan. 28 to face the
. charges.

FISHING FOR salmon in a closed area netted a North Vancouver
fisherman a $300 fine in North Vancouver provincial court Tues-
day.

David Wilson, 43, pleaded guilty to. Gne count of illegal fishing
in connection with an incident Oct. 13 near Chrome Island in the
Strait of Georgia, where he was alleged to have been fishing with a
gillnet. within one to 1% nautical miles of the Vancouver Island
shore. :

Appearing before North Vancouver provincial court Judge J.B.

Paradis, Wilson was ordered to forfeit to the Crown the proceeds |

from the sale of the fish.

iV man jailed
for trafficking

AN 18-YEAR-OLD North Vancouver man was sentenced in North
Vancouver provincial court to 13 months in jail after he pleaded
guilty to drug trafficking and failing to meet conditions of a court
undertaking.

Glen Peter Wanek was handed two six-month jail terms Dec. 22
after he pleaded guilty to two counts of trafficking in marijuana in

- two separate incidents in North Vancouver Nov. 4 and Dec, 9.

‘A guilty plea to 9 charge of failing to meet a condition that he
not be within a one-block radius of North Vancouver's Beaux &
Belles poo! hail netted him an additional 30 days in jail.

All three jail sentences are to be served concurrently.

Two other counts of possession of 2 narcotic for the purpose of
trafficking were stayed.,

Wanek was originally charged in part in connection with a series
of incidents Dec. 9 in which he appeared in North Vancouver pro-
vincial court to face a charge of breaching the terms of a Nov. 6
court undertaking that he not go within one block of the Beaux &
