His was the first dance band picked by the Canadian Radio Commission, the fore- runner of the C.B.C.. for regular network broad- fasting. Mart Kenney and his seven Western Gentlemen, as his band became known, moved to Toronto in 1940 where he built a supper club called Mart Kenney’s Ranch on the outskirts of Toronto. He solid this a few years ago and moved back West where he lives in the Lower Mainland area with his wife Norma who also sings with the band.
