TRANSIT TELEPHONE INFORMATION The Metro Transit Operating Company’ S transit infor-' mation service is presently operating under severe limitations because of faulty telephone equipment. The Transit information staff handle approximately 3,000 calls per day. The system includes an - automated answer and hold mechanism and 12 in-. _formation desks. Presently, the automated answering equipment is out of order and 5 of the in- _ formation lines are faulty. The B.C. Telephone Com- pany dispute has effectively reduced our ability to meet public demand for these services up to 58%. Until the Telephone Company returns to normal operation and repairs this vital equipment, the infor- mation staff requests the patience of callers. Infor- ‘mation lines are open 6:30 a.m. to.
