Bi Fy C Summer” games set for Richmond _ The Second British Columbia Summer Games will be held in. Richmond August 3, 4 and 5,. with. the Opening Ceremonies at 8:00. p-m. August 2, 1979. “The.27 Sports Events for this years Games will take place August 3, 4 and 5, with a Closing Ceremony on the. afternoon of August 5. For the first time all of the ’ athletes will be competing at ’ the same time on the same days, unlike last year when we had-the athletes divided ° into two divisions of two days’ each. There will. be 3,500 ath- _letes competing in 27 Sports Events -which will be ‘the. largest gathering of amateur . athletes in the history‘: of Canada next to the 1976 Olympics. It will take almost 1800 volunteers in Richmond to pull off this event.
