pleaded guilty to the charge
stemming from an Oct. 24,
1993, incident.

Oct. 7, 1993, and July 10, 1994,
incidents in North Vancouver

INDIAN SUMMER ALL-
FORD ROUNDUP... The year

THE NEWS that an all-new
Eagle Talon makes its debut
this fall has been greeted with
enthusiasm by a smail group
of knowledgeable car enthusi-
asts.

For most people, however, the
reaction might be, “What's an Eagle
Talon?” Or even, “What's an
Eagle?”

Asa telatively new brand,
Chrysler's Eagle division has had a
tough time establishing itself in a sea
of competing makes. The igle car-
line, sold dirough Jeep-E
ships, is amis Of econonny cars.

Canadians aren" t aware that
Mitsubishi is one of Japan's largest
carmakers, and indeed, one of the

Mitsubishi doesn’t hive any deal-

have many in the United States. In
Canada, Mitsubishi vehicles are sold
through Chrysler dealerships and re-
badged as Plymouths, Dodges and
Eagles. The Dodge Col: and Eagle
Suminit Wagon are two examples of
Mitsubishi venicles.

The Eagle Talon, a compact 242
sporty coupe, is also a Mitsubishi
product called the Eclipse. Until
recently, Plymouth sold a version of
the Eclipse called the Laser, but it’s
been dropped for 1995.

The Talon/Eclipse is built at
Mitsubishi's ‘manufacturing plant in
Normal, fllinois. The 1995 ‘Talon is
availudle as the front-wheel-drive
Talon ESi or the all-wheel-drive

Talon TSi AWD. The Talon ESi
now uses a Chrysler-built 2.0-litre
four cylinder engine and transmis-
sion, while the TSi AWD tur-
bocharged model uses a Mitsubishi-
built turbocharged 2.0-fitre engine
and transmission.

‘The entry-level Talon DL with a
1.8-litre engine and the turbocharged
front-wheel-drive Talon TSi are no
longer available.

Chrysler describes the new
Talon’s styling as “organie.” Mim nat
