By LOUISE SPRATLEY Ann Dickson, former West Vancouver alderman, former Parks and Recreation chairman, and a loved and respected member of the municipality she served so well, died Tuesday in Lions Gate Hospital at the age of 45. Although she had been ill for some time, her death came as a shock to the community. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Ronald Dickson; two sons, Steven and Kevin Arnott. and daughter Erin Arnott; and her mother and stepfather, Dr. and Mrs. N.E. Morrison, Nelson, B.C. Ann's community work dated from 1973 when she was named to the West Vancouver Parks - and Recreation Commission. She served as its chairman from 1975 to 1977, during which time the Aquatic Centre and Skateboard Park were opened. Ann took her strong in- terest in keep-fit recreation programs into her campaign for a council seat in 1978, wearing her jogging suit as a signature. Her campaign was built around a plan for a Heritage Square to go on the waterfront site of the Blue Bus depot when it is moved to another location.
