DEEP Cove Stage opens its 2000/01 season
tonight at Deep Cove’s Shaw Theatre with Neil
Simon’s popular comedy Rumors.

Lies, cover-ups, scandals: sounds like the latest round of
B.C. polities, doesn’t it. Add a missing wife, missing cook, a
damaged car, whip lash, a reoccurring back spasm, and rumors
galore and vou have the potential for comic mayhem.

The setting is st an elegant anniversary party. but the host-
ess is missing and the host (the deputy mayor) is bleeding in
an upstairs bedroom, People swap identities, slam doors, and
dig theinselves ever deeper into holes with one fantastic story
after another — all the ingredients of a classic farce.

The show opens tonight at the Deep Cove Shaw Theatre
with Kathleen Denkewalter in the director's chair.

The play runs Oct. 13 to 28, Wednesday through Saturday
