ARE YOU game? North Vancouver beat out 10 other

communities to be the host of the 1996 B.C. Winter

Games, a multi-sport event that will bring some 2,500

——____——-——~_ gthletes, coaches and officials to the North Shore. This

mini-Olympics will include a variety of sports, from skat-

ing, cross-country and downhill skiing, hockey, curling,

bowling and swimming to table tennis and ringette.

That's good news for sports fans, and even better news

for the money-men, who estimate that the Games will

inguiring generate between $1.6 million-$3 million. Add to that the

reporter future tourism that wil! result and you have a hat-trick of
good reasons to support the B.C. Winter Games.
