Leonard is one of several near-
comatose patients trapped ina
paralysing sleep for 30 or more
years. On Dr. Sayer’s first day at
the chronic care hospital, the shy
research scientist discovers the pa-
tients are not brain-dead statues at
all. They are trapped in a hideous
limbo, waiting to wake up.

skills and no clinical experience,
