Judge Layton discounted the defence evidence, ‘and told the accused that the public’s protection was at stake. Chouinard was found guilty of breaking and entry in April 1961 in Quebec and was sentenced to three years. In 1964 and 1969 he © was sentenced to a total of | five years for similar. offen- ces.
