Vancouver Internationa!
Festival for Young People
and, with May 5 to 11, 1980
marking its third year, it is as
unique as the splendor of its
setting.

This year, the Vancouver
International Festival for
Young People _ brings
together 18 different theatre.

Canada, New York, San
Francisco, Bolivia, Belgium
and England to perform 168
shows in tents for audiences
totalling about 50,000.

Because the tents
preclude elaborate sets and
lighting, they limit the kind
of show that can be booked.
So, the tents encourage the
actors to rely on their own
ingenuity and _ physical
prowess to conjure up
visions and emotions in the
minds of the audience.

The public tickets, are on
sale at $2 and $3 with no
advanced booking fee from
the four ncket locations —
The Centennial Museum,
the Heritage Festival Office
just inside the 12th Avenue
entrance at City Hall and at
the two Principal Trust
offices — 625 Howe at
Dunsmuir and 5025
Kingsway in Burnaby.
