ther, grandfather and friend, on October
18, 1993 at Lions Gate Hospital. Surviv-
ed by his wife Elsie; his daughter Lestey
and son-in-law Norman, granddaughters
Kahlyn and Courtney Oaniel; daughter
Rosemary and grandchildren Susanne,
Brock and Blake McAndless. An Open

MacARTHUR - James Richard “Dick”
suddenly on Wednesday, October 20,
1993 at the age of 49. Loving son of
Margaret, Predeceased by his father
Prescott. He will be sadly missed by his
daughier Lana, brother Douglas and

SLATER - Richard Walter passed away in
Vernon, 8.C. after a short illness, Oc-
tober 17, 1993. Predeceased by his wite
Ella on April 30, 1993. Dick is survived
by his loving chitdren; two sens, Michael
of Kamfoops and Sean (Beth) of North
Vancouver; two daughters, Janice
George) Makortoff of Vernon and Leak
Kirkham of North Vancouver; also four
grandchildren, Keith, Darryt and Robyn
Makertoff, and Jamie Kirkham; one
brother Alan (Wilma) of Nanaimo and
one sister Edna in England. Dick retired
in 1983 after 35 years with Burrard Yar-
tows and fur many years he was on the
board of directors of the North Shore
Community Credit Union, No seivices by
request. His remains will be interred,
alongside those of his wile of 53 years,
