Fast ferries wake and
wash effects eased

That's Richard Goth’s take on a PacitiCat Wake and Wash
technical report released this week by BC Ferries.

The recommendations arise out of a Sandwell
Engineering report that was commissioned bv BC Ferries last
fall. ‘The report recommends the Crown corporation make 2
number of course alterations and speed chatges to PacifiCat
routes in order to minimize the effect of wake and wash on
sensitive areas,

“Inj just continues the sad saga of this (fast terries) endeav-
our.” said Goth, a spokesperson for the Ferry Coalition of
Users to Reestablish Equity (Ferry CURE). “This kind of
investigation should have been done at the beginning of the
