Reading that story, 1 was alternately amused — and amazed at those people around Dundarave. Living in North Van as { do, it pains me deeply to read that those self- “righteous hyp- ocrites of the nether regions of “snob hill” consider us North “Vanites” to be noth- ing but a bunch of skulking dopers and foreigners of MAIL Box NV’s drug dealers as good as WV’s questionable lineage and dis- reputable character. Fd like them to know that our drug dealers and foreign- ers are every bit as good as their drug dealers and for- eigners, even if not as rich and well-organized. Over here, we enjoy the local neighbourhood pubs, because we aren't as preten- tious, nor rich enough to do our hell-raising in other peo- ple’s neighbourhoods, like the folks in Dundarave do. The kind who real- ly enjoy our community cen- tres and night school courses. T hear there’s a new course this year called “Rectumology 101" for those of us who want to help people overcome their crappy oudook on life. It’s an addition to the ongoing series i. behavioural modification begea with “Steatopygia and its effect on personality,” which examined the relationship between fat asses and convoluted think- ing among the under- employed. Next term, we'd like to sec a course on “Hydroponics and Controlled Substances,” in case We ever get rich enough and degenerate enough - to move over to West Van, and join what seems to be their latest growth industry. Ray Sutton North Vancouver Unequalled hypocrisy Dear Editor: For sheer hypocrisy the NDP government has few equals. Not satisfied with gouging eight times more revenue from tobacco than the entire industry that mar- kets it, demanding the retail- ers collect and submit the government's punitive taxes free, they then attempt to ZONING BYLAW.
