Alison Sydor continued to hold
the lead of the Tour de l'Aude
women’s cycling race after four
stages on Sunday.

Sydur, who is in France without
funding and without a coach,
posted a combined time of four
hours, 54 minutes and 30 seconds
on Sunday. This gives her a 52-
second edge over Catherine Mar-

sal and Cecile both of
France.

In the first stage of the race,
Sydor, 24, defeated Astrid Schop
of the Netherlands while world
champion Marsal came in 51 se-

conds behind.

This is Sydor’s first big win on
the world circuit and her fitth
year of racing.
