ICBC announces innovation

“Dial-a-claim. May I help
you?”

That's the greeting Lower
Mainiand motorists get when
they call to report an auto
accident claim to Dial-a-
claim Central, the Insurance
Corporation's new one-
number claim reporting
system in Greater Van
couver.

When a motorist calls, one
of a team of 50

recruited and _ trained
Telephone Claims
Representatives responds

and during the next few
minutes discusses the ac
cident.

Equipped with a
sophisticated electronics
communication system that
displays a claims reporting
form on a CRT screen, the
Claims Representative
completes the report with
the assistance of the
motorist.

“Before calling Dial-e-
claim, motorista should
make sure they have all the
necessary information,” ssid
Vice President, Claims,
Sandy Pearson.

“This includes
Certificate of
your driver's

your
Insurance,
licence

number, details of the ac-
cident including vehicle
licence plate numbers and
names of others involved,”

know vehicle location if it
has been towed from the
accident scene and a name
of a bodyshop that will do
repairs.”
