(David Choo photo) Celebrate skating week This is National Figure Skating Week in Canada and the Vancouver Skating Club is celebrating with an Open House at Karen Magnussen Arena on Saturday (Nov. 1) and at the PNE on Sunday (Nov. 2). The purpose is to promote one of Canada’s most popular sports and to inform the public of what skating is all about. During the two days, skaters from the club will demonstrate the skills required to pass tests and achieve proficiency from the beginner to senior levels. Dance and _ free-skating exhibitions are scheduled as well as a figures demon- stration.
