Gina and Cesare D -Angelo-
‘Cesare and Gina D’Angelo recenily celebrated their 50th anniversary
*-.with 150 of. their friends at a banquet and dance at North Vancouver's

Presto Inn. The D’Angelos have lived.in North Vancouver for 42 vears.
They. were married on Feb. 16, 1946, in Goriano Sicoli, Abruzzi province
in Italy. Cesare and Gina renewed their vows in a ceremony and mass at
“Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Vancouver in which Father
Agostino read a papai blessirig. The couple’s attendants were Emilio and
Lina Nanci of Kelowna. in 1946 when asked by the priest to say “I do.
* Cesare nudged Gina and said, “What do you think?” The priest leaned for-
_ward, pointed to Cesare and said, “I’m talking to you!” The couple have
“three children and four grandchildren. Cesare plans to spend the next 50
years, like the previous 50, trying to convince people he is taller than Gina.

A belated but very happy 100th birthday to Aileen Gagnier. Mrs. Gagnier (née
Devaney) was born Feb, 24, 1896, in Toronto. She moved to B.C. in 1983. She has
four children, 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gagnier celebrat-
ed with family and MP Ted White at the Kiwanis Care Centre on Whiteley Court in
Lynn Valley. Helping her celebrate are (left to right) great-grandchildren Deanna,

Leah, Jake and Vanessa Holmes.
