NEWS photo Brad Ledwidge Jennifer Suspect stabs pursuer A man who chased a would-be car thief from his home on Nov. 10 sustained a punctured lung after he was stabbed with a long screwdriver, The 20-year-old victim was taken to Lions Gate Hospital. His injury was not life-threat- ening. Police did nor release his name. According. to the North Vancouver RCMP, the man and his 22- -year-old brother were leaving the family house in the 800-block of Ridgeway Avenue at 1] p.m. The men were raking dogs for a walk. Police say that as the men left the house, they nciiced a person in their moth- er’s van. The van occupant, a young man, was trying to start the van with a screwdriver. The suspect fled with the two brothers in pursuit. One of the brothers was stabbed, The suspect got away. The suspect is described as being 16 to 24 years old, 1.88 m (6°2”) witha large build and olive-colored skin. He had a bald or shaved head with black stubble. North Vancouver RCMP Const. Tom Seaman said that police discourage people from confronting suspects, especially if they are armed.
