Scrap stecl is collected and sold to a serap dealer and of filters are also recy- cled. A new purchasing policy has them buying paint thinners in bulk instead of buying five-gallon cans. Gray primer paint is also purchased in 350-pallon containers as well. This policy has greatly reduced the amount of paint cans going to the landfill. B Lutine’s hair salon in Deep Cove is owned by Lutine Bjornson, an individual committed to recycling and reducing. She recycles paper. cardboard, plastics. and offers her clients a product-refill program. She switched her line of hair color to that of a manufacturer who takes the containers back and recycles them. In addition, Lutine cuts up old towels to use as strips around clients’ necks instead of using paper.
