CROCHETED SCARF
Materials: | ball darker color
Jakobsdalsgarn Afghan, 3 balls
lighter color Afghan; 6.5 mm
crochet hook.

Tension: 10 dc = 4" (10 cm)
Using darker color ch loosely 21.
Foundation Row: Make a long dc
as follows in 3rd ch from hook.
Long DC: Wool over hook, insert
hook in st, pull up a long loop “%”’
(2cm) long, complete de as usual, !
long dc in each ch to end, ch 3,
turn.

Row 1: 1 long de in 2nd de and in
each dc, | long dc in top of turning
ch, ch 3, turn,

Row 2: Repesi row | except do not
ch 3 at end of row, join lighter
color, ch 3, turn.

Rows 3, 4 & 5: Repeat row I, at
end of row 5 do not ch 3, join
darker color, ch 3, turn.

Rows 6, 7 & 8: Repeat row 1, at
end of row 8 do not ch 3, join
lighter color, ch 3, turn.

Repeat row | using lighter color
until scarf measures 49’? (124.5
cm) from beg.

Work 3 rows darker color, 3 rows
lighter color and 3 rows darker
color, fasten off.

Make a fringe using alternate col-
ors.

CROCHETED HAT
Materials: |] ball each light and
darker colored Jakobs-dalsgarn
Afghan; 6.5 mm _ crochet hook,
1/8"? (3mm) elastic.

Note: If the scarf was made, the
leftover darker colored yarn is
enough to make the hat. If scarf
was not made you need to buy 2
balls of the lighter color.

Using lighter color ch 3, 10 de in
3rd ch from hook, join to top of
chn 3 with sl st, ch 3, do not turn.
Kow I: 1 de in same place as join,
2 de in each de around, join to top

of turning ch with sl st, ch 3, do
not turn.

Row 2: *1 de in next dc, 2 dc in
next dce*, repeat bet * around, join
to top of turning ch, drop light
color and join darker color, ch 3,
do not turn,

Row 3: *2 dc in next de, 1 de in
each of the next 2 de*. Rep bet *
around, join to top of turning ch,
