Suit filed for finger loss Liam Lahey Contributing Writer A Carson Graham Secondary School stu- dent, who lost two fin- gers during a wood- working class, is suing the North Vancouver School Board. Hamid Reza Jahangiri- Bojani, 16, had wo fingers on his left hand severed in a Dec. 3, 1997 accident while working ona picce of equipment known as a jointer. Jahangiri-Bojani, who also named teacher Tim Brudder in the suit, had his right hand ina cast at the time. The srudent sought permission to be excused from Brudder’s wood technology class due to his bro- ken right hand. His request was denied and he attended Brudder’s clsss. Brudder alizgedly instructed Jahangiri-Bojani to assist anoth- er student rather than have him attempt to work alcne. The accident — occurred n Jahangiri-Bojani moved to pre- vent a fellow student from injuring himself on the jointer. He severed two fingers from his own left hand.
