j All's not fare in WV taxi robbery

WEST Vancouver Police officers
knocked on doors in a British
Properties neighborhood last week
looking for information about the
attempted robbery of a Yellow Cab
Driver.

On June 11 at 3:30 a.m, a cabbie dropped off
two men in a cul-de-sac at Hindhurst Place near
Stevens Drive in the exclusive West Vancouver
neighborhood.

Police seek witnesses
to attempted robbery

West Vancouver Police Const. Harry McNeil
said one of the fares grabbed the cabbie from
behind and cied to choke him. The cab passengers
demanded money from the cabbie.

The cabbie jumped out of his taxi and san off.
The suspects caught him and a struggle ensued on

the ground, according to police.

The cab driver broke free and ran to his cab.
Police say the cabbie ejuded the would-be robbers
by hiding.

The would-be robbers were described as
Caucasian males, age 25. One of the suspects had a
creweut. The suspects were picked up in downtown
Vancouver.

Trial for
stabbing
suspect

A North Vancouver
man was ordered to
stand trial on a charge
of second degree mur-
der last week.

Brian James Milligan, 19,
faces the charge in connection -
with the death of Roy
Nahanee.

Nahanee, 20, of North
Vancouver, died after being
stabbed once in the chin area
on June 21, 1997, in
Squamish.

Nahanee was __ fatally
wounded while celebrating 3
birthday near Evans Lake,
north of Squamish. In a previ-
ous News report, the police -
said about 25 peepie from
North Vancouver = and
Squamish were at the party.

General Hospital.

North Vancouver provin-
cial court Judge Doug Moss
ordered the accused to stand
trial at the conclusion of a five-
day preliminary hearing
Friday. A trial date has not |
been set.
