Annual meeting held

NORTH Shore Multicultural Society president Alfredo Sepulveda recently
addressed those gathered at Mickey MacDougall recreation centre for the 6th-
annual goneral meeting of the community group. At present the society provides
the following services: settlement services, counselling te newcomers, English as
Second Language classes provided ay volunteers, the HOST program, drop-in cen-
“tre and support prograin for immigrant women, job training, language bank, and
_: translation/cuttural Interpretation in the local schools. Sepulveda said In his report
. that the society “will continue te lobby the focal municipalities in support of a
Multiculturalism policy to ensure that the diversity of the community is recognized
and valued, and that the needs of all members of the community are well served.”
