BC Hydro opens office BC HYDRO is opening a new office on the North Shore. It will serve the communities of North and West Vancouver, and the North Shore-Coastal region, including Powell River, Sechelt and the Pemberion-Whistler- Squamish region. ‘The office is located at 630 Brooksbank Ave. in North Van- couver, and will be open for business at noon on Monday, Oct. 5. “BC Hydro is trying to bring customer services closer to the communities we serve,’’ said BC Hydro regional manager Brian Demerse. ‘‘The fact that we now have offices spread out throughout the Lower Mainland should enhance services.”’ Of the 100 staff members that will work at the new office, Demerse said that many are North Shore residents. Previously, North Shore administrative and person- nel staff worked out of a Kitch- ener Street office in downtown Vancouver. Customers can also pay bills at the new Brooksbank office, a first for North Shore residents, who have up.until now had only two drop-box locations at which 1o pay their hydro bills.
