ried women friends tell me I am
exactly what) single women are
looking for.

If that’s the case, why am I
alone? My relationships since my
divorce four years ago have been
superficial and disappointing. And
that includes the sex.

Either women decide they want
to get married from date one and
I feel like any acceptable man will
do or they announce they aren't
ready for commitment and I feet
like another notch in their design-
er belts.

What's going on out there? |

upscale singles bars. Is it me or
them?

A. First, it is more difficult to
establish a good relationship at 40
than ic is at 20 because you have a
more complicated life now. Your
responsibilities and past disap-
pointments weigh heavily some-
times.

Second, you are looking in the
wrong places. Why don't vou ask
those married women friends to
introduce you to their single
friends? You might also join civic,
cultural ar other organizations to
widen your circle of acquain-
lances.

Forget the singles scene. It puts
too much pressure on people to
make romantic and sexual choices.
