Amas cards nelp Kids THIS YEAR let your holiday greetings also carry a message of hope to children around the world. Various locations on the North Shore will carry cards from the Save the Children Fund of B.C. 1988 Christmas card collection. Of the 15 designs available, seven are by B.C. artists, including one student design. The remaining eight designs are imported from Britain. Artists Kiff Holland, Ted Har- rison, Peter Ewart, Diana Durand, John Maki and Heather Woodall donated designs. The student design winner is Suzanne Hodges of Winlaw. Save the Children Fund cards have featured B.C. artists since 1982. Proceeds from the sale of the cards go directly to help children around the world to live a better life. Currently, the organization funds 44 projects in 18 countries. Always family-centred, projects concentrate on basic needs: clean water, health, education, agriculture, community develop- ment and, when required, emergency relief. Monies raised through card sales are matched three to ene by CIDA (Canadian International Development Agen- cy). Save the Children Fund of B.C. cards are sold in packages of 10 with envelopes. B.C. artists are $6 and smaller British cards are $5 and $4 each package. In North Vancouver the Save the Children Fund cards can be pur- chased at Super-Valu in Edgemont Village and Super Valu in Lynn Valiey, and in West Vancouver at Kensington Antiques, Super-Valu in Park Royal, Treasure Chest, Stong’s in Dundarave, and Woodward's Food Floor.
