apilano College wins silver

‘In college soccer

CAPILANO COLLEGE
won the silver medal in
men’s college soccer last
weekend, finishing
second only to Okanagan
College in the eight team
league.

Capilano earned the silver
medal in the four team
playoff by beating Cariboo
College 2-1 on November 14.
Craig Binion and Tom
Herdman scored for Cap.

However, the team came
up short against Okanagan,
November 15, losing 4-0 in

the final.

Capilano is holding a
tournament this weekend,
featuring Okanagan,
University of Victoria and
the Southern Alberta In-
stitute of Technology from
Calgary. Games started
Saturday and continue today
at 12 noon and 2 p.m. at
Capilano College. .-

In exhibition basketball
action, the Capilano Blues
womens team defeated
Columbia 47-26, with Joy
Elliot getting 17 points and
Lisa Yesowick scoring 14.

Ladies curling has

Ladies All-Star Curling
Started again this year,
October 6, at the North
Shore Winter Club, and
takes place Tuesday mor-
nings with rinks from around
the Lower Mainland in-
volved.

The rinks are divided into
two blocks, with round robin
action in cach block and
then the top two teams in
each block playing off in
semi-finals and finals in
January, 1982. Prize moncy
of $1,090 donated by ninc
sponsors on the North Shore
will be given.
